Why homes actually burn

It isn't the wall of flame. It's the ember cast.

60–90%

Of home ignitions in a wildfire start with embers, not the flame front

Cal Fire, Office of the State Fire Marshal

Miles

Embers routinely start new fires ahead of the front. In the 2018 Camp Fire, radar tracked spotting several miles out.

Lareau et al., Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, 2026

Embers travel a mile or two ahead of the fire, pile onto roofs and gutters, and wait for something dry to catch. Wet those surfaces first and the ember has nothing dry to land on.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Do I need a pump or a special water source?

No. Every EmberHawk sprinkler runs on standard household water pressure from an existing hose bib or spigot. Municipal supply and residential wells both work. There are no pumps, no tanks, and no wiring.

How do I know my water pressure is enough?

The shop page lists the minimum PSI and GPM for each sprinkler, but the fastest way to know is our two-minute bucket test. Time how long a 5-gallon bucket takes to fill and we tell you how many sprinklers your supply can run at once.

Find out how many you can run
Does it work on well water?

Yes, as long as your pump and pressure tank can hold pressure while the sprinklers run. Well systems vary more than city water, so run the bucket test at the hose bib you plan to use and size your zones from that number.
